Several issues

I flagged a number of issues with this article, so am describing the concerns in more detail here.

  1. Factual accuracy: This article views Opothleyahola mainly as a fighter against, or with, the "United States government." His supposed oath of allegiance to the U.S., becoming a Baptist and a Freemason, and fight with "'half-breed' Lower Creeks" are all dubious assertions.
  2. Missing citations: Only a few statements are supported by footnotes.
  3. Citation style: Those few footnotes are incomplete; e.g. "White, p. 297." And only (American) Civil War buffs know what Official Records refers to without a fuller citation. Wikipedia has a global audience.
  4. Insufficient context in introduction: Opoyhleyahola's political leadership and role as speaker (not "spokesperson"; "speaker" was a title of office) for the Upper Creeks is omitted.
  5. Incomplete: A good deal is missing.

I'll try to contribute as much as time permits, but want to invite others to go ahead. — ℜob C. alias ᴀʟᴀʀoʙ 17:43, 28 November 2009 (UTC) Hvtko? micco hvtke means white king, micco hutko? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.74.213.200 (talk) 21:53, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
