A barnstar for you!

The Barnstar of Diligence
Thank you so much for making the articles on Nazi history more credible! I've heard a lot of external complaints from Polish people about Nazi bias on Wikipedia, but never gave it much thought until I read the article about you! :-) Remingtonn (talk) 16:41, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Today, I have a special story to tell, of the works of a musician born 300 years ago. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:36, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question about the IPN

I am picking on you because you were in the same case I was, but I think you paid more attention than I did to this part: how to evaluate IPN publications, particularly if they seem to be be out of print and also are not available online. Does it depend on the date of publication? Does it make the work someone more authoritative because the IPN no longer hosts it? Is it borderline unverifiable? (I read the memo about how verifiable does not necessarily mean easy to verify, but how far does this go if it is a lot of the references?)

If you don't know or don't want to comment, sorry to bother you, but you came to mind as someone that might know off the top of their head, so if you do have a comment I am interested. Thanks for any brainpower you apply to this problem Elinruby (talk) 08:11, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  1. If the work is held in libraries (search worldcat) it is not unverifiable
  2. Yes, the IPN has gone through various periods of political influence, that particularly affect its more public-facing content. I would say that the more scholarly publications are probably a better source to cite as well as hopefully less affected by political bias.

I don't recall asking you, buidhe, nor is that what asked. Thanks anyway I guess. Elinruby (talk) 09:13, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
sorry this squabble followed me here. Go ahead and disregard the question though; I'm just re-reading the decision for myself on second thought. Elinruby (talk) 06:23, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

January music

Thank you for improving articles in January! I remember Ewa Podleś on the Main page, and have - believe it or not - two musical DYK. Shalom chaverim. On vacation, with something for your sweet tooth --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:44, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Today a friend's birthday, with related music and a few new vacation pics --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:04, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wilhelm Georg Joachim Kuhn (1913–1994)

I noticed we seem to be missing an article on Major Joachim Kuhn  (who is also missing from List of members of the 20 July plot). I thought you might be interested and likely had plenty of references upon such a topic already at your disposal. –Uzume (talk) 18:25, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

February thanks

Thank you for improving quality articles in February. - The image, taken on a cemetery last year after the funeral of a distant but dear family member, commemorates today, with thanks for their achievements, four subjects mentioned on the Main page and Vami_IV, a friend here. Listen to music by Tchaikovsky (an article where one of the four is pictured), sung by today's subject (whose performance on stage I enjoyed two days ago). -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:43, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

more music and flowers on Rossini's rare birthday --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:41, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have reverted your edit of today at this article, on the basis of WP:BRD. I see that you edited out quite a large amount of text on the basis of WP:Recentism at 8.47 today and referred to the Talk page discussion, then actually contributed to the discussion at 8.50, threee minutes after your edit. It is better to do it the other way around or you are not really taking part in a discussion at all!:-) It is perfectly reasonable to make the WP:Recentism argument; others might oppose it of course. We should reach a consensus in a couple more days; the discussion's been very useful and constructive, including your contribution. In the meantime, please don't re-revert. All the best, Emmentalist (talk) 16:35, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

March thanks

Thank you for improving article quality in March! - I uploaded Madeira vacation pics (from back home, at least the first day) and remember Aribert Reimann. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:00, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
