New page reviewer

User:Isi96

I recently received an invitation to apply for this set of permissions, and I am happy to oblige. I have been editing extensively for the past few years, and in that time I have created many articles and handled feedback on them. I also have a fair amount experience with the AFD and CSD systems. I would be happy to help improve this project even further with the new page reviewer permissions. Isi96 (talk) 03:47, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Given that the February Articles Needing References Drive has wrapped up and that I'm a sucker for drives, I'd be delighted to participate. I've been meaning to regularize my editing anyway, and it plays to my strengths! kencf0618 (talk) 12:19, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for requesting new page reviewer rights I was invited by a message to become a new page reviewer because my account fits the criteria. I would like to help Rahammz (talk) 13:39, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(Non-administrator comment) I oppose to grant this specific and advanced perm in unexperienced editor who do not demonstrate the deletion policy and they 1 times only participate in WP:AFD and not participate in WP:AFC; I don't think this user is eligible for this perm without any enough experience in this field. ~~ αvírαm|(tαlk) 13:41, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @Aviram7, but the information you specified is typically something that an admin would come across in their review of the user prior to granting them the permission. Generally, non-admins are discouraged from commenting unless there's something one wishes to share that they would not expect the reviewing admin to notice. Applying to be reinstated, as I didn't reapply back when the trial period ended due to an unforeseen wikibreak. DrowssapSMM 00:32, 11 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have made a good amount of edits on Wikipedia, and I believe that I am ready to be a reviewer. I have had some issues in the past with understanding notability, but I have learned from my past mistakes and analyzed the notability guidelines. I know I can now accurately review articles to the best of my ability. Thank you. Antny08 (talk) 17:54, 12 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. NPP requires more experience than AfC, and nothing has really changed since the recent AfC decline except another of your articles being sent to AfD, where you're making arguments like "He has not thousands, but MILLIONS of followers", "if it gets deleted I will probably leave Wikipedia", and "if the article gets deleted then it will double my deleted edits count, which will strongly hurt my chances of getting administrator someday". I do not think you have the experience or maturity for additional permissions at this time. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 21:06, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It’s just me expressing my opinions, that does not really show not having experience or being immature, but, okay, if you say so, I accept the decline. Antny08 (talk) 13:30, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It has been a while since my last request, and I believe I have demonstrated that I am ready and I hope whoever reviews this to share my thoughts. Since my last request, I have made 43 pages and am also an active AfC reviewer. The backlog is at 13K+ and I would be happy to contribute in taking that down. I have been tagging and flagging new pages for a long time, but with a lot of infrequency. However, since I'm unable to mark a page as patrolled, I'm not able to help reduce the workload on the rest of the editors here. With this permission, whenever I'm looking into new pages, I'll be able to make more of a difference. Shashwat986talk 07:04, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My edits are lower than the threshold of 500, but that is due to my work on New Pages. As a result of my work, I have over 1200 edits in User_talk pages (implying around 800 pages successfully deleted). If the 500 is still a hard-cutoff, I withdraw my request. Shashwat986talk 09:12, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Shashwat986: It's flexiblish, but explicitly doesn't include deleted edits – we're looking for people with experience improving articles as well as deleting them. I can see that you were quite active in new page and CSD patrolling in 2010–13, but since then you've been almost completely inactive. Welcome back! The CSD are basically the same as they were then, but the kind of new pages we see has changed quite a lot, as have community expectations on sourcing, notability, etc.
Based on your prior experience, I'd be willing to grant you the right despite not meeting the formal criteria (with the usual one-month trial period), but could you please first confirm that you've familiarised yourself with the current guidelines at WP:NPP? – Joe (talk) 18:03, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

With over 3 years and 6700+ edits I demonstrate the relevant areas that I am of a sufficient level of knowledge with the policies regarding page creation, deletion, citations and use of secondary reliable sources etc. Also Wikipedia's notability guidelines. I have a solid history that shows I am proficient with communicating and interacting with new users in a good, positive, civil, and appropriate manner. Thanks for offering to help out Spiderjiu, but your account does not meet the minimum criteria for this user right (see the bot's comment above) and you do you appear to have much experience in the areas we typically look for in new page patrollers (AfC, AfD, and article creation). I would suggest getting involved in those areas and, if you're still interested, requesting again in a few months. But  Not done for now. – Joe (talk) 17:45, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have participated in policy-compliant content creation and AfD for years and was recently invited to join the NPP. While monitoring WikiProject-specific article alerts and new articles feeds, I sometimes see promising drafts or new pages about subjects I'm interested in sit for months, and I'd like to support these types of articles by cautiously improving and reviewing / approving or rejecting them when appropriate. User:Twinkle1990

I was denied earlier two times. I am told that I need Admin's interfere, which has no logic as I have participated well in AFC, AFD, and rest, now I am willing reduce the new page backlog. I have witnessed a massive backlog of WP:NPP. I know how to handle Page Triage and other issues like COI and CPE, Twinkle1990 (talk) 15:59, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. You have been denied this right four times and that last time was three weeks ago. Hey man im josh asked you to participate in more AfDs before you applied again; you've participated in three. Please do not make another request here until at least six months has passed and you have meaningfully acted on the feedback you have received in previous requests. – Joe (talk) 17:38, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
