Bulls Gap has no apostrophe in it. It is plural, not genitive. More than one bull. See e.g. Bulls Gap, Tennessee. --173.230.96.116 (talk) 05:53, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is the name used by the National Park Service (see References). I also checked a biography of Breckinridge and Pfisterer's Statistical Record. In the last century, the US government has been systematically removing apostrophes from geographic names, which is probably what happened in this case. An unregistered editor added this information which I believe could either be a footnote or added here. This is the text: "A minor point of interest is the participation of Company A, 3rd Regiment Confederate Engineer Troops in the fight, losing three killed and four or five slightly wounded. This was the highest documented loss for this service arm and they were rarely directly engaged in combat. McCalla himself was absent on furlough and Lieutenant James Morrison commanded the company (Letter, Captain R. C. McCalla to his wife Margaret, November 28, 1864-RG703 in Auburn University’s Civil War Letters: Civil War in the American South as the Speake-McCalla Letters 1863-1865)." [97.125.133.243]
