Who or what is the "bi-speckled newspaperman from Knoxville"?

A belated response. The description refers to Confederate Brig. Gen. Felix Zollicoffer who was a newspaper editor and was quite near-sighted. This article needs some editing, maybe even a few corrections. Donner60 (talk) 07:12, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
