We were blessed with Commander-in-Chief Kevin Tucker&#8217;s presence. Bugler, later Rev., Wesley F. Swift served in the 3rd Iowa Volunteer Cavalry from 1862-1865, fought in 12 battles and was severely wounded in one of those battles. After the war, he was a circuit-riding preacher to the Chickasaw Indians of Southern Oklahoma.<\/p>\n<p>This ceremony was conducted by the Jeremiah Smith Camp #1 of the Oklahoma Department of the SUVCW on August 17th, 2013.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-76 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/oksuvcw.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/image3821-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"http:\/\/oksuvcw.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/image3821-300x199.jpg 300w, http:\/\/oksuvcw.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/image3821.jpg 434w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Jeremiah Smith Camp #1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Memorial Day 2014 at the Union Veterans Cemetery at 36th St. NE and Eastern Avenue, Oklahoma City.<\/p>\n<p>Participants were the SUVCW Jeremiah Smith Camp #1, the 10th Kansas Volunteer Infantry, and the 20th Colorado reenactors.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-77\" src=\"http:\/\/oksuvcw.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/image3831-300x225.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\"><strong>Indian Nations Camp #3 and Sgt Jacob Overturf Camp #4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PDC Gene Turner giving the keynote speech at the G.A.R. Monument in Tulsa at Rosehill Cemetery on May 29th, 2014. The event was well attended with wreaths being presented by both SUVCW Camps and the Rachel Cormany Auxiliary #2.
