The 2022–23 Atlantic Coast Conference men's basketball season began with practices in October 2022, followed by the start of the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November.[2] Conference play began in December 2022 and concluded March 7–11, 2023, with the 2023 ACC men's basketball tournament at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.[3] This was the 69th season of Atlantic Coast Conference basketball.

Head coaches

Coaching changes

  • Mike Krzyzewski announced his retirement prior to the 2021–22 season, which he stated would be his final season. Kryzewski was head coach of Duke for forty-two years.[4] After the season concluded, Jon Scheyer became the new head coach at Duke.[5]
  • Chris Mack was fired as head coach of Louisville on January 26, 2022.[6] In March of 2022 it was announced that Kenny Payne had been hired as the new head coach.[7]
