The grammar is horrible, but I am too lazy to fix it.

I mean things like "Santa Anna rode away and left his artificial leg, which they [sic] captured and have on display in Illinois."

The grammar seems to me to have been improved since the un-signed and un-dated comments above. If it is too much trouble to sign and date posts, how about using four tildes '~' (on the right of most keyboards), which will do it automatically ? That way, other editors will know if such comments are still relavent.

Section 1 Battle in its first sentence reads:

"United States forces captured the port of Veracruz on March 27, 1914."

The English Wikipedia "Siege of Veracruz" article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Veracruz) states the siege of Veracruz ended on March 29, 1847.

I undid an edit from January 7, 2013 that changed only the year in a sentence to 1914 instead of 1847 in the revision right before that on December 21, 2012.

That corrects the year but there is still an issue regarding the date of the capture of the port of Veracruz between March 27, 1847 in the December 21, 2012 revision and March 29, 1847 from the English Wikipedia "Siege of Veracruz" article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Veracruz).

According to the introduction "The battle saw Winfield Scott's United States troops outflank Antonio López de Santa Anna's larger Mexican army" however according to the info box on the right, it says the US had 12,000 men while Mexico had 8,700, so who had the larger army? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.181.106.116 (talk) 12:54, 18 April 2019 (UTC) A prior edit lists the troop numbers as coming from pages 264 and 268 of the Bauer reference, if anyone has access to that. -204.132.58.85 (talk) 16:59, 19 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
