MA vs MSA, etc

I made a few edits to the opening sentence. I tried to succinctly clarify that the title has "metro area" but the article is about the (more specific/technical) MSA. The bold title-reference needed to match, but MSA needed a link. "alyosha" (talk) 00:56, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Map update

I've updated the article but the map still needs an update and it’s beyond my graphics skills. Anybody out there willing to take a crack? Grey Wanderer (talk) 21:35, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Now done thanks to the Graphic Lab. Grey Wanderer (talk) 04:10, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Future of Columbia

There are plans that when both the Columbia CSA and the Jefferson City MSA were to become one, a new Metroplex will be born. What do you think? 112.205.219.43 (talk) 02:57, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I see what you're saying, but CSAs and MSAs are Census defined. In some ways the two cities already function as a unit (same TV and radio stations). It is possible that they would combine into a Columbia-Jefferson City-Fulton CSA if enough economic ties are developed, however in my opinion this is a long way off. I think anything like the Dalls-Fort Worth megaplex is even further off and honestly unlikely to ever happen. The population of the two combined today is still much much smaller than even Missouri’s largest metro areas of KC and STL. So for now unless you find some sort of reliable source, this kind of speculation doesn’t have a place on Wikipedia. Check out the Mid-Missouri article If you have sourced regional information you’d like to add. Thanks! Grey Wanderer (talk) 04:08, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
