Related to Charles Sumner?
Insofar as both were Bostonians and prominent Civil War figures, one naturally wonders. I note that there's no mention on our Charles Sumner page either, but am reluctant to add a line stating "no relation" on that basis alone. Perhaps someone better acquainted with the general's origins can insert a few words stating either that he was not related to the senator, or that he was a distant relative?
