A direct descendant of Henry Dearborn is Lewis Lapham, recently retired as editor of Harpers Magazine.

Par 5 mentions the fall of Detroit, however in the sentance before that it has the subject planning to attack Detroit. The way it reads it has Detroit falling because he failed in his plans to attack Detroit which the US (I guess from what I read else where) already had. So, there is an inconsistency here?, or maybe just a transposition?, at minimum needs cleanup.John5Russell3Finley 22:41, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It needs rewriting:

General Dearborn was supposed to be attacking Niagara at this time. If he had, it would have prevented British reinforcements from being rushed to Amherstburg. But he didn't do anything, and the British came and went as they pleased. See "1812: The Navy's War", George C. Daughan, pg. 95. --Petercorless (talk) 18:09, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Dictionary of American Biography does not name the battle, but the major engagement of the Sullivan Expedition was the Battle of Newtown in August 1779 not the July 1778 Battle of Wyoming.
