I cut this out and moved it here

* Northern Ireland,
What I have been able to discover is that in 1914 the state of Virginia decided to give a statue to Great Britain & Ireland, who at that time were one country. It seems to have been 1921 when this happened and I believe that there was only one statue given, the one in London. If anyone discovers otherwise please return it to its rightful place. Here is a link to that transaction. [1] Carptrash (talk) 05:53, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have found

the Corcoran Galley website to be extremely used unfriendly in terms of searching their collection but my Sculpture at the Corcoran [1] has the Washington as being just a bust, so I've put this here until we know more.

the Budapest statue

seems to have been done by Bezerédi Gyula - who was my second guess. Carptrash (talk) 22:02, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Information needed on these statues

So thanks to the gallery, there seems to be several clear versions of the statue, but that have very little information, or are possibly even post-Gorham casts (not all the Gorham casts are accounted for, indeed with varied numbers, but mostly 22 produced of some variety).

  • Inside the Washington Monument in D.C., apparently put there in the 1990s
  • Barranquilla (Colombia), with very little information
  • France, one in Saint-Martin-de-Ré (is it possibly that it may be the unaccounted for Versailles copy?)
  • A recent cast placed at Washington University in St. Louis

Lovely to see this grow from a little stub 18 months ago! Johnbod (talk) 02:58, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
