Reflecting on my experience with the Wikipedia extra credit assignment, I found it to be both challenging and rewarding. Initially, the task seemed daunting due to the responsibility of contributing accurate and verifiable information to one of the world's most utilized knowledge resources. However, as I delved into the process, I appreciated the structure and support that Wikipedia's guidelines provide to contributors. This framework not only guided my edits but also instilled a sense of confidence in the validity of the information I was adding.

Through this assignment, I learned the importance of thorough research and the value of reliable sources, especially in an era where information can be both ubiquitous and misleading. The experience sharpened my skills in critical thinking and succinct writing, particularly in synthesizing complex topics into concise, understandable content that is accessible to a broad audience. I also became more adept at technical skills such as citation formatting and navigating Wikipedia’s editing interface, which are valuable in many academic and professional contexts.

Despite the initial challenges, the satisfaction of enhancing a public knowledge resource and potentially aiding others in their quest for information is highly motivating. I intend to continue editing on Wikipedia because it feels empowering to contribute to a platform that promotes knowledge sharing on a global scale. Editing Wikipedia not only allows me to apply what I've learned in a practical manner but also helps me stay engaged with new developments in topics I'm passionate about. It’s a rewarding way to give back to the community that has been a vital educational resource for me throughout my studies. Post-Traumatic Growth

Hi @FULBERT. Thank you for your message on my talk page about the removal of edits I made to the post-traumatic growth page. The edits I removed were contributed by a student in my WikiEdu course, and the student's edits needed to be removed because the information presented in the edits were not aligned with or supported by the data in the sources that he used. Visiting the sources directly revealed information that was highly inconsistent with the edits that the student published. I chose to remove the edits directly rather than begin a discussion on the Talk page because of the potential risks of misinformation. I will be sure to provide a more detailed edit summary to detail this removal. Thank you! Tjwilliamson91 (talk) 14:22, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reflection

The Wikipedia extra credit assignment was a very intriguing and stimulating experience that not only helped me to comprehend different issues in the recruitment process but also opened my mind to consider culture as an aspect of time management. The process of reading and revising the article helped me to go deeper into these subjects, get new ideas that I didn't have before. Particularly, I realized the role of core competency-based recruitment and how cultural viewpoint could have an effect on time management techniques, while experiencing a major shift in my personality.

As for continuing editing on Wikipedia, I'm inclined to do so. It's a valuable platform for sharing knowledge and contributing to a global community. Taking part in various edits isn't only educational for me as it helps to extend my knowledge horizon, but at the same time, it gives me possibility to contribute something to the set of information that allows millions of people to gain the knowledge on variety of different topics. Furthermore, collaborative system of Wikipedia creates a feeling of belonging and contribute to learning experience which makes participation in Wikipedia worth carrying on.
