Summary

Description
English: Originating in the coastal regional province of Esmeraldas, Ecuador. This traditional dance incorporates story telling, poetry and carnival celebration movements. Uniting the different cultures of the region including African freed people, Native Ecuadorian First Nations, and Spanish language culture moving to the rhythms of the wooden marimba instrument from Central Africa.
Español: Con orígenes de la provincia regional costeña de Esmeraldas, Ecuador, esta danza tradicional incorpora narración de cuentos, poesía y la celebración del carnaval. Uniendo las diferentes culturas de la región, incluidos los africanos liberados, los pueblos indígenas ecuatorianas, y la cultura criolla española todos moviéndose al ritmo de la marimba: un instumento de madera originalmente de África Central.
