I noticed that someone replaced the original link to a Meherrin website with a link to another one that appears to have separate leadership. It would be helpful if someone could perhaps expand the existing article to explain any potential differences these two groups have. Please add the link: meherrinnation.org. This has much more information than is provided here. The link that is currently provided is from a group that separated but is not seated with the NC Commission on Indian Affairs. Yes, someone conflated the Meherrin Indian Tribe, a state-recognized group, with the "Chowanoke-Meherrin," an unrecognized tribe. They both appear to originate in Winton, North Carolina, so the confusion is understandable. This article should be rewritten to discuss the historical ethnic group, the Meherrin, and a separate article should be created for the Meherrin Indian Tribe. BTW User:Meherrin Indian Nation, since you have a conflict of interest, you are discouraged from editing this article, but you can suggest edits here on this talk page. The wp:self-published website is linked at the new Meherrin Indian Tribe article that is specifically about the North Carolina state-recognized tribe. What are you trying to convince people of? The current article doesn't mention the "Chowanoke-Meherrin" and links to the Meherrin Indian Tribe.
