This generally reads like an advertisement rather than an encylopedia article. NicM (talk) 22:26, 8 February 2008 (UTC).[reply]

march 2011 the article is still a horrible read. most of it, if not all, is copied from the official MC website. and while i realize that this would be a primary source of information, there is not much of an effort to structure the information, to make it more accessible for the reader here at wikipedia. --87.171.97.15 (talk) 12:49, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Place in training

"Whether commissioned from the Naval Academy, NROTC or one of the other Officer Candidate School (OCS) routes, TBS is the first stop for new Marine officers." Do officiers go to TBS after Naval Academy/NROTC/OCS, or is this "basic" school actually the second school they go to? Apokrif (talk) 23:50, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, after. They aren't officer until they graduate from OCS or Annapolis: while there, they are officer candidates or midshipmen. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 01:43, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I am working on a research project about Walter E. Gaskin Sr., he attended college on an NROTC scholarship, graduating in 1974. I have found that he attends TBS in 1982... I thought you were fast tracked to OCS after you attended Uni NROTC or that represents being fast tracking you to officer status. Is it just me or is attending TBS after 8 years in the military strange? Does that indicate that he switched into the Marine Corps later after being in the Navy? Sorry, I am just not immersed with PIT trajectories and such. There is a lot of inferencing going on on my part.
Thanks,

Malformed sentence on FEX III

The paragraph on FEX III has a malformed sentence: "Specifically, students will learn about and utilize mortars, anti-mech, machine guns, and during this FEX." Is it missing one or more words before "during", or is the "and" simply in the wrong place? GCL (talk) 04:01, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
