Diese silberne Kassette mit verschiedenen Schreibutensilien stammt vom berühmten Nürnberger Goldschmied Wenzel Jamnitzer (1507/08-1585), der häufig für das Haus Habsburg arbeitete. Sie ist überreich mit Naturabgüssen von kleinen Tieren, Muscheln und Pflanzen geschmückt. Erzherzog Ferdinand II. schätzte diese Technik, die sich durch ihre verblüffende Naturnähe auszeichnet, ganz besonders.

This silver casket with various writing utensils was made by the famous Nuremberg goldmsith Wenzel Jamnitzer (1507/08-1585), who frequently worked for the House of Habsburg. It is lavishly adorned with casts of small animals, shells and plants. Archduke Ferdinand II particularly valued this technique, distinguished by its amazing lifelikeness.
