Notability

A notability tag was recently added to this. This party has an odd notability instance, as it is the merger of a number of extant parties, several of which have had surviving articles here for years. As such, the party carries with it the notability of the components it absorbed. There is no one of these absorbed parties that is the primary element of the merged party, and as such it doesn't make sense to have any one of those articles renamed to this. --Nat Gertler (talk) 02:24, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Need External Links section with Official Website pointing to Alliance Party website

It looks like the Alliance Party has a website, https://www.theallianceparty.com/

I think it would be more consistent with Wikipedia articles on other political parties if there was an "External Links" section and a link called "Official website" pointing to this site.

Which party member won a seat in the State Legislature?

The infobox says it does but I can't find anything in the article or citations about an Alliance Party member winning a seat in a state lower chamber — Preceding unsigned comment added by XP6287 (talk • contribs) 20:12, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@XP6287: The Member is Fred Thiele of the Independence Party of New York. This is based solely on his party registration, as he caucuses with the Democrats in the Assembly and receives most of his votes in elections as a Democrat (due to Electoral fusion). It is due to this latter point that he is not listed in the best election results table, as his Independence Party vote share isn't high enough to warrant placement there. There was a footnote about this added some days ago, but it might be a good idea for him to by mentioned in the electoral history as well. MCUSRAP (talk) 17:32, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This information is incorrect. There is no elected member. that was a fusion candidate for the Independence Party of New York whis incorrectly listed as an affiliated party. What parties affiliated/formerly affiliated

The article is not very clear as to what state parties have been affiliates. SecretName101 (talk) 02:10, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • That is a completely vague statement without anything else to back it up. There is nothing else online calling them socialist. Jon698 (talk) 16:43, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
