Blue Tory Designation
I am at this point in favour of removing Andrew Scheer from our list of known blue tories and I wanted to start a discussion about this before I did so. My reasons include:
1) he has no long term track record showing he is a libertarian conservative (unlike notables like Mike Harries and Ralph Klein)
2) He is best known for supporting supply management, which is more in line with red tory ideology
3) His current policies will likely expand government (such as increasing federal healthcare subsidies) which violates the principles of decentralization and reduced federal taxation
4) Our current reference calls him a "true blue tory" and, in my observation, when one ads the term "true" it is used in the media to indicate that he is less receptive to liberal/progressive ideology rather than to distinguish a politician from a blue vs a red tory.Seraphael7 (talk) 06:08, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
