He recently came under criticism for trying to give out an award in honor of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a VERY liberal Supreme Court Justice, to some people who very fundamentally ipposed to her legacy: Elon Musk, Rupert Murdoch (Fox News founder) and Michael Milken (junk bond market creator, pardoned by Trump for his crimes). The Barry Simon link appears to be to a Barry Simon who's a mathematician, not a lawyer.
