OR, according to the last line of the article. Chris the speller (talk) 21:12, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Picture of WW2 truck axles on beach. These appear to be in too good a condition to be WW2 vintage, for a 1978 photo. They have hypiod crowns and vertical pinions, hence diffs are power-splitter types. Possibly a 60/70s vintage Toyota or Nissan 6x10.220.244.75.18 (talk) 04:02, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I took the photos in 1977 and '78 and I assure that it was then. Indeed, Japanese men of youth and/or middle age visited in large numbers searching for fathers' bones. Masalai (talk) 08:07, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What is or was this? A mistyping of "Buin" by any chance? Masalai (talk) 11:12, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

With no comment, I have assumed it was indeed a typo and corrected it. As to the line, "There were very well-established primary and high schools, and a thriving vocational learning college, a small motel,..." I was resident in 1977-78 and there was no motel back then. I wonder if this is a correct recollection. Alas, few photos of the town rather than the high school (any restoration of it nowadays?) but I am inserting a couple. "a small motel"

Where was this? I knew the town fairly well, but tourists coming in, having arrived by boat from the southern Solomons, often found their way to my house, not having become aware of any motel. And even as a resident I wasn't able to advise other than that they simply spend a day and night at my house. Masalai (talk) 14:59, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
