Cherry Hill Village

Article states it's becoming more of a downtown area, such as Plymouth's downtown. As a resident of Canton, I know that was the goal, but I'd contend it's not really working. No one really goes there except for the theater, or unless they live near it. Please find a source. 67.149.249.153 (talk) 20:15, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

Canton Charter Township, MichiganCanton – "Canton" is the common name. "Charter Township of Canton" is the official name, but nearly everyone refers to this municipality as "Canton." Wikipedian77 (talk) 21:02, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I meant to request a move to "Canton, Michigan." If I requested this move, would you still oppose it? (My intention was only to remove "Charter Township" from the title.) Wikipedian77 (talk) 22:21, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Location Info in 2nd Sentence is Inaccurate

The second sentence of this article --"It is located about 8 miles (13 km) west of the city limits of Detroit and 8 miles (13 km) east of the city limits of Ann Arbor." -- is not accurate. The distance between Canton and Detroit is more than that. I'd edit myself but I don't know how plus I don't know the exact distance. But I'd estimate eastern edge of Canton to western edge of Detroit is about 15 or so miles. 207.237.213.137 (talk) 00:13, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming to "Canton Township, Michigan"

I want to reopen the discussion on renaming this article from Canton, Michigan to its proper name of Canton Township, Michigan in line with all other township articles in the state of Michigan. There are 1,240 townships in the state of Michigan, and only Canton and Redford are named without "township" in their article name. I lived in Canton for awhile, and while it was colloquially referred to simply as Canton, it was always listed as Canton Township in formal and municipal documents. It was only referred to simply as Canton because of the post office, which is common in many townships that have an unincorporated community with the same name. For consistency purposes, I believe the Canton and Redford articles should be renamed, as the other 1,238 townships all have the full name in their article name. —Notorious4life (talk) 02:42, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
