The airport code for Sawyer International Airport south of Marquette is MQT, not SAW. SAW is the old code for K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base that was retired when passenger operations were moved from the former Marquette County Airport to K.I. Sawyer. Imzadi 1979 → 12:26, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the comment. It depends on which "airport code" is used. Int'l Airport Trans Assoc (IATA) uses MQT. The Int'l Civil Aviation Org (ICAO) and FAA uses KSAW or SAW for Sawyer International Airport. The FAA airport diagram, sectional chart, and AirNav currently use a coding of SAW. KMQT and MQT were the old ICAO and FAA codes for the former Marquette County Airport, located west of Marquette. The thought was using MQT would cause confusion. The coding used on the route map was intended to be FAA. Perhaps the route map could have MQT/SAW displayed as the coding. Dj1997 (talk) 19:42, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
