He is listed in Who Was Who in America as being born in Blandford, Massachusetts, which is nowhere near Albany, New York. Any ideas on how to deal with the discrepancy? Badbilltucker 16:48, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Many 19th-century biographic sketches claim (apparently incorrectly) that he was born in Blandford. According to longer sketches (such as this one) he was born near Fort Edward in 1770, the family fleeing to Blandford in 1777. Magic♪piano 14:27, 3 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
