Future travel

I'm certainly open to discussion, but having a separate section for "future travel" during months that we are currently in seems confusing. It creates two sections for the same month, which seems overly cumbersome. I suggest we include all planned travel in the current month in simple chronological order, with planned travel in future months under the "future travel" heading. Thoughts? Juneau Mike (talk) 20:31, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Future trips are only planned and not certain. With trips added it would bring more confusion to mix everything. Wykx (talk) 21:05, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I respectfully disagree. So long as future trips are written in the future tense, why do they need a separate section? Obviously future plans are subject to change. Juneau Mike (talk) 21:08, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
In my view, it's good to bring clear and quick attention to the reader to the difference between certain past information and probable future information. Moreover the title is "trips made" which is not "trips scheduled". Scheduled trips are additional related informations. Wykx (talk) 21:12, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I am opened to the idea of a different section for future trips. I think it is important to highlight planned future trips, given that not all future trips actually happen. And like what Wykx said, it must be clear. PatTag2659 (talk) 09:56, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Two Questions

So, I found that on USA Today that it had reported that he visited the National Museum of African American History and Culture. I have two questions. In the box where it says area, should I put the neighborhood of Washington D.C? Secondly, would you consider this even a presidential visit?

"This list excludes trips made within Washington, D.C." Wykx (talk) 16:49, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Mar-a-lago

Should we exclude Trump's Mar-a-lago trips or should we have the color of that location represent each month he visited (ex- Black dot for visiting in Feb, Mar, May, October, December) -Polly7423 User talk:Polly7423 3 Maarch 2017 (UTC)

We should exclude it and update the sentence 'Also excluded are trips to Camp David, the country residence of the President, and to the private home of the Trump family in Trump Tower, New York City.' because it's a private home of Donald Trump. Wykx (talk) 21:01, 3 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Wykx. Trump seems to frequently visit the place. We should also update that sentence. PatTag2659 (talk) 03:08, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
At the same time, until now Donald Trump has always added another event to each of his Mar-a-Lago trip so perhaps we could wait a bit before removing all Mar-a-Lago mentions. Wykx (talk) 23:09, 6 March 2017 (UTC).[reply]

Why is this a list

Why is this a list to begin with? George W. Bush's page doesn't have this, Bill Clinton's Page doesn't have this? **There pages only have international trips**

Barack Obama has it for almost every year of his Presidency (e.g.: List of presidential trips made by Barack Obama during 2010). Good way to chronicle the affairs of the Presidency. I'd go back and do it for all the Presidents if I had infinite time and energy. PvOberstein (talk) 11:44, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Italy on June 23-24

Since there is no airport in Vatican I guess today and tomorrow President Trump is in Italy and sleeps tonight in Italy. 2001:983:2ED1:1:F530:44B4:236D:A5E0 (talk) 18:22, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Too many photos

There are too many photos on this page. It prevents full list readability. I would recommend to delete most of them, they don't bring anything to most of the trips of the article. Please comment. Wykx (talk) 17:12, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As the one who added the images in the first place, I believe they are beneficial to the article because they provide a visual detail of the trips (and are small enough that they don't really take much space, often the word description takes up more space). They add substantial visual imagery to an otherwise colorless list. MB298 (talk) 00:37, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
There's only about a dozen photos, what's the big deal? And they are informative, setting the "mood" of each trip. — JFG talk 04:35, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Map issue

Hi, guys, I think the map that is at the beginning of the page it would be a nice idea to put the territories along with Alaska and Hawaii if he does go there. I can't place an image for some reason. --Skim

Stirling, Virginia Trips

There appear to be multiple weekends where Trump makes multiple visits to his property in Stirling. Are we certain that these are separate trips (i.e. he does not spend the night and returns the next day)? Should we continue to count these as separate 'trips'?

Also, kuddos to whomever can figure out his more leisurely trip calendar/logs. The White House never publishes where he is going for the weekend and I have no idea how you find this. Avilan01 (talk) 22:23, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If I am not mistaken, there are always sources added in the article. Wykx (talk) 22:44, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Avilan01, I've generally been tracking the Sterling, VA trips using the White House press pool reports published on Kinja (details should be in citations). And yes, they almost always appear to be discrete trips, not overnight trips. Usually just a couple of hours before the evening. The pool reports usually confirm that later. Proposal to Create a New 2018 Page

I propose we create a new 2018 page, akin to the Obama era travel pages. Thoughts? Avilan01 (talk) 19:15, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No opposition from me. I'm fine either way, but people may fine a multi-year page unwieldy, so I suppose I'm tentatively in favor. PvOberstein (talk) 20:19, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As soon as his first trips for 2018 are announced, I think we should create a separate page for his 2018 trips to be consistent with the Obama era travel pages. PatTag2659 (talk) 04:46, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
For those who care, I did start a 2018 page, and it is under review. It may be a while until it becomes a full page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Avilan01 (talk • contribs) 00:30, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
