Name of the article / Name of the party

The correct title is "Nepal Workers' and Peasants' Party", not "Nepal Workers Peasants Party", right? Everyking (talk) 11:27, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a single printed document signed 'Nepal Workers' and Peasants' Party'? I know this is not grammatically correct English, but it mirrors real life usage of the party name. The party name in Nepali is 'Majdur Kisan Party', not 'Majdurharu ra Kisanharuko Party'. Its not possesive, it is not the party that belongs to the workers and peasants, rather worker-peasant denotes its political class orientation.--Soman (talk) 16:20, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I checked the Parliament link included in the article, and it gave the name as Nepal Workers' & Peasants' Party. However, if the current title is what the party actually calls itself, let's keep this title. Everyking (talk) 21:21, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia policy would indicate leaving the article with the most commonly used name, but mentioning the official name within the introduction, and the information box, and any 'History' section. Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party?

There is a redirect from this title, and the section on "Presence in various provinces" uses it, but it is not mentioned as an alternative or previous title of the party. Please will someone with sources fix this. Thanks. PamD 21:28, 17 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

juche hoax

I removed the mention of Juche as the party ideology. Going through the references presented, there is little to suggest that the party would have replaced Marxism-Leninism as the ideological foundation of the party.

  • Here we have an article from 2020 https://kathmandupost.com/12/2020/01/17/in-this-nepali-city-the-north-korean-dream-is-alive-and-thriving , that mentions "And behind Bijukchhe is a radical ideology imported from a hermit state in a peninsula thousands of kilometres away--juche" - it's well possible that the article author had been influenced by the Wikipedia article
  • "In his nearly 30 years ruling over Bhaktapur Municipality, Bijukchhe has adapted juche to the Nepali context", this is more an interpretation from the journalist side of comparison between Bijukchhe and NK, than a commentary on the ideological development of the party
  • The article, quoting Maharjan, also talks about NMKP as a communist party.
  • "Bijukchhe has gotten a lot of press over the years for his admiration of North Korea’s Great Helmsman, which is probably why he is quick to downplay the direct influence of juche. We have learned from everywhere, he says."
  • "In his office, Bijukchhe has the same portraits that used to hang on the walls of Nepal’s Maoist party--Marx, Engels, Lenin, Mao and Stalin. But Bijukchhe has two more portraits--Kim Il-sung and his son, Kim Jong-il." - well, portraits of Kim Il-Sung could found in a lot of other communist party offices around the world.
  • "“Kim Il-sung is one of the great teachers for Nepal together with Ho Chi Minh, Fidel Castro, Rosa Luxembourg to learn communism lessons,” he too had told Nepali Times in 2016. “The juche idea is a directional ideology of our party, we read and study a lot of literature from North Korea.”" - it's one source of inspiration, not the exclusive ideological line. And by no means replacing ML. I came across a Korean article that quotes them as directly calling themselves followers of Juche
“South Korea was under the influence of the US and Japanese ruling class, just as Nepal could not escape the influence of the ruling power in India. There was a consensus on the reality faced by Korea and Nepal, and Comrade Kim Il-sung's Juche idea is a valid vision for Nepal, which aspires to achieve economic and political independence from India.” President of he party, Bijukche.

Westerners often think they know everything about everything but can't figure out that a political party can have both Juche and Communism as it's political philosophy lmfaooo. Comrade Rohit is a strong believer of Juche. It is not only 'recent years' that the party has embraced Juche as it's ideology, नेमकिपा is a Juche and communist party since it's founding.
