In the Army, the first two digits for enlisted personnel MOSs normally indicate the Career Management Field or CMF.

Armor career field is 19 not 12. 12 used to be Combat Engineering but was merged with 51, 62 and some others to make the new career field 21.

Although not a CMF MOSs begining with 00 (e.g. divers, recruiters, and command sergeants major), 02 (e.g. band member), and 09 (officer candidates) exist. - DH 20050721 1437UTC

Change to ASI, LSI

I've changed the bullets detailing the default characters for unassigned ASI and LSI for EMs. They are 00 and OO, respectively, not YY and ZZ as before. See AR 611-1 para 6-6b(4) and (5) for details. --CatCube 203.91.144.12 (talk) 05:42, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The page says that Language Identification Codes are found in AR 611-6 -- maybe they once were, but no such Army Regulation appears to exist now (at least the Army Publications Directorate has no record of it). I'm sure the LIC codes must be listed somewhere, but I have been unable to find the publication that lists these codes. Three publications mention the Language Identification Code (LIC) either in the text or Glossary, but none of the publications that mention or describe the LIC say where those codes are listed. --N4aof (talk) 04:55, 17 August 2021 (UTC)N4AOF[reply]

Navy ratings and NECs

The Navy gave up on their great idea only a month or so after announcing it and reverted to the old rating system. This section needs to be rewritten.... 71.235.184.247 (talk) 03:49, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
