  • curprev 15:0715:07, 14 January 2022162.222.55.19 talk 12,651 bytes +384 As written, this sentence was very biased and seems to only represent the views of the opponents of the tariff. This was only the view of its detractors. In fact, the tariff was supported by the majority in Congress, where it passed. It's supporters claimed that it would help to develop both US industries that couldn't compete with cheaper UK products, as well as raw materials producers in the US,for which there is a lot of empirical evidence.
