The Governor Generals of New France were not succeeded by the Governor General of the Province of Canada. They were succeeded the Governors of the Province of Quebec. BradMajors (talk) 19:01, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if it's this page or New France, but something needs it. Right now you have New France claiming it was a formal designation, but not linking here; this article (& talk above) claiming New France isn't Canada, but linking to Canada's governors. New France claims it isn't a viceroyalty by 1750; this page says they're vice-regnal (= viceroys.) The list here (which is good & better formatted than the Canadian page) disagrees with the Canadian page about the format for these guys' names (which isn't as good.)
