This whole article, except for the history section, sounds like a corporate advertisement written by KCS staff.

Example: "Ferromex is the only other Class I operating in Mexico, and it doesn't own any tracks into the US." This isn't even related to KCS and serves no purpose in the article other than to make KCS look better to a potential investor. Additionally, the article is filled with biased adjectives like 'important', 'key', and 'efficient' that really don't added to the readers knowledge of the subject so much as they attempt to make a brochure of this article. I'm not necessarily opposed to using KCSR instead of KCS as the abbreviation, although personally I think KCS is better because that's the Reporting mark by which it's known in the industry. But I do think we should use one or the other consistently. GA-RT-22 (talk) 21:33, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@GA-RT-22: The predominantly used abbreviation is KCS in reliable sources, so that is what we should stick with here. The editor who changed the abbreviation and name appears to be an undisclosed paid editor on behalf of Kansas City Southern (see the message I left on their talk page). Just because the Union Pacific trades under the name of one of the railroads that merged to form the current railroad, doesn't mean that the current railroad doesn't result from mergers of earlier railroads. If you look at the History section of the Union Pacific article, it indicates that the current railroad is the corporate successor of the Southern Pacific and that they renamed to company to the better known Union Pacific Name. 24.169.30.178 (talk) 19:24, 24 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
