The article is new enough, long enough, and adequately sourced. No close paraphrasing was found. Nominator has no previous DYK nominations so no QPQ is required QPQ check did not find any prior nominations, but the nominator's talk page suggests that they have more than five nominations, meaning that a QPQ is needed. ALT1 is the better hook, but the hook fact is not in the article itself, but rather is only mentioned in a reference: the hook fact must be mentioned in the article too. Thanks for the review and input. I have added text which aligns with the hook (and is supported by the reference). A glaring oversight on my part. Will perform QPQ in the next day or so.
