Andrew Bustamante is a former intelligence officer for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and served in the United States Air Force. He is an alumnus of the United States Air Force Academy. During his time in the Air Force, he commanded a unit responsible for 200 nuclear Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles and was noted for his role at a young age.[1][2]

Bustamante's career at the CIA followed his military service, involving work in disguise, analyzing human behavior, and operating in challenging environments.

His recruitment process included multiple interviews and evaluations, reflecting the agency's selection criteria which emphasize decision-making abilities and risk assessment. Bustamante's tenure at the CIA lasted for seven years before he moved to the private sector.[3][4][5]

Upon departing from the CIA in 2014, Bustamante founded Everyday Spy, a consultancy that leverages his intelligence background.[6] His firm offers training and advice in critical thinking, leadership, and security to corporate clients and individuals. Bustamante has been invited to speak on various mediums and events, as well as college campuses where he gives lectures.[7]

On June 2, 2023, it was reported that Andrew Bustamante would participate in the History Channel live-action series about Skinwalker Ranch. Additionally, he has expressed opinions on the portrayal of spies in mainstream films.[8][5][9]

Bustamante regularly provides commentary on international affairs, including geopolitical conflicts and intelligence matters. His analyses have covered topics such as espionage, the Russia-Ukraine conflict and Middle East tensions, including the dynamics between Israel and Hamas and the role of Iran.[1][4][10]
