Fair use rationale for Image:Enbridge Logo.gif

Image:Enbridge Logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:36, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Linking information in spills and violations

Polaris Institute has created an extensive corporate profile of Enbridge - it is not meant to be a "damning" report or anything, just summarizes fact that you can find (albeit usually buried) in Enbridge-written reports. I was trying to add some of this info to the Enbridge wikipedia page, and was apparently not doing it correctly. A contributor - Ckatz let me know and I tried to fix it. Now every time I try to add some of the statistics compiled in the report, Ckatz deletes it.

I have added statistics about spills that used to be linked to the Enbridge website where all their annual corporate responsibility reports. This cannot be simply linked to this because these stats are intentionally kept separated by year in the reports - it can only be linked to the Polaris Institute report because it is the only source that has gone through all the reports and but the data together. I'm using PHMSA data from their Stakeholder Communications site for spill size & detail updates. --Pipeexaminer (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 02:47, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Add more current info?

A section has been added to 'critics' on protests. Enbridge may remove this material, but it is carefully cited and should be allowed to stay. Pamwiki1 (talk) 16:43, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

USEPA images

There are a number of images of the 2010 spill and aftermath on the USEPA photostream on flickr such as [1]. Being US Government work they should be useable for this article. Djapa Owen (talk) 05:28, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Recent protests and controversies

The subsection named 'Recent protests and controversies' seems to be a list of single actions with questionable notability. Particularly the latest addition saying "In August, 2013, a woman climbed a tree in Marcellus, MI in protest of Enbridge's Line 6B construction" seems to violate WP:N, WP:DUE and WP:NOTNEWS. The same applies e.g. to the sentence "On June 24, 2013, a man lodged himself in a pipeline in Marshall, Michigan (USA) to protest against Enbridge." The whole subsection needs to be cleaned-up and copyedited to make it encyclopaedic. Beagel (talk) 18:41, 12 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

POV editor?

Since the 8th of October a significant number of edits have been made by IP 161.141.1.1, all inserting Enbridge promotional material including a huge number of references to the Enbridge website itself. I feel I must point out two things, we are not here to provide an advertising venue for corporations but rather an objective encyclopaedic resource, and the Enbridge website is not an authoritative independent reference for statements about Enbridge. All those references can be rejected on the basis of conflict of interest. It is good to have another editor contributing to the article, but please be careful that by quoting Enbridge advertising material you are not including claims disproved elsewhere in the article. Djapa Owen (talk) 15:48, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have just realised that the IP in question is registered to Enbridge and so all edits to this article by that IP are subject to a conflict of interest and should be removed. The talk page of that IP has the following message at the top: "This IP address, 161.141.1.1, is registered to Enbridge and may be shared by many users of an enterprise network, so you might receive messages on this page that were not intended for you."

Does anyone know how to undo those edits automatically? Djapa Owen (talk) 02:59, 8 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like this editor is back. I have reverted and posted to Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard. Kendall-K1 (talk) 01:24, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Operations section needs updating after Spectra merger

I added a paragraph to the history area about the Spectra merger. That substantially increased Enbridge's scope, so the "Operations" section needs an update, too. I'm afraid I don't have time to do this. --BloorStreet (talk) 00:01, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
