The geographical coordinates of Rimatara and Rurutu seem to be slightly incorrect at the Getty Thesaurus of Geographic Names Online: -- Citylover 14:51, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone render "Conseil du Scoutisme polynésien" and "Be Prepared", the Scout Motto, into Tahitian? Thanks! Chris 14:48, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User ty

I have looked at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikipedians_by_language . It would appear that there are no templates like {{User ty}}, {{User ty-3}} for Tahitian. :( Chris 06:53, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Language?

I believe this is an Eastern Polynesian language, but don't know whether it's part of the Tahitic subgroup or the Marquesan-Hawai'ian one. Can someone please supply this information? Koro Neil (talk) 10:32, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tuha'a PaeAustral Islands – Restoring the old title . The new name seems extremely dubious and there aren't much quality sources for its usage. fr:Îles Australes would probably know more about this subject but they don't even list this alternative name. This says it means the fifth part which is probably a Tahitian translation of some term for a colonial division only in modern usage. There is no historical background to it, at least not that I can see. Either way Austral Islands is the most common terms for these islands in most sources, new and old. Also can someone also clean up this article especially after user:HURIMOZ to see of they are actually factually correct? Thanks. --KAVEBEAR (talk) 06:09, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Rename (ie, revert). Regardless as to whether Tuha'a Pae is an acceptable name or not, I think that it's clear that Austral Islands is the common name. Good Ol’factory (talk) 01:02, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Map issues

The upper map under the infobox is insufficiently labeled. It does not actually indicate the Austral Islands. Acwilson9 (talk) 00:22, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
