The 1979 Burlington mayoral election was held on 6 March 1979 in order to elect the Mayor of Burlington, Vermont. Incumbent Democratic Mayor Gordon Paquette was easily re-elected to a fifth term.[1]

General election

On election day 6 March 1979, incumbent mayor Gordon Paquette was re-elected to a fifth term by a margin of 5,022 votes. The only opposition to Paquette came from Independent Write-in candidate Carol Brown, as the Republican Party did not run a candidate in the election.[2] Paquette was sworn in on 3 April 1979.
