The legal entity "town" is not recognized by Oregon statutes.
- If incorporated, populated places should be categorized as Category:Cities in Oregon.
- If unincorporated, they belong in Category:Unincorporated communities in Oregon. Some unincorporated communities also fall under the definition of Category:Census-designated places in Oregon. These communities should already have bot-produced articles.
- If no longer in existence, they belong in Category:Ghost towns in Oregon or Category:Former populated places in Oregon.
