Fort Towson

Elk Township is one of sixteen townships in Jackson County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 1,907 and it contained 873 housing units.[2]

Geography

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 37.26 square miles (96.5 km2), of which 35.8 square miles (93 km2) (or 96.08%) is land and 1.46 square miles (3.8 km2) (or 3.92%) is water.[2]
