DescriptionBestSelf Behavioral Health - fmr Niagara Lithograph Company - Buffalo, New York - 20210123.jpg
English: The former Niagara Lithograph Company building, 1050 Niagara Street, Buffalo, New York, January 2021. Built in 1903 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2020, the building was designed by the local firm of Lansing & Beierl and is a typical example of industrial architecture of the period with a brick façade, large windows in accordance with the principles of the "daylight factory", a minimalist exterior decoration scheme that consists solely of a simple brick cornice along the roofline and segmental arches above the side windows in the rear portion of the building, and an open floor plan on the ground floor which once housed the machinery. Notably, the topography of the lot slopes down toward the Niagara River in the rear, allowing for a two-story basement facing the canal and rail lines along the river. The Niagara Lithograph Company was in business until 1967, and the building itself was used as a lithography factory for its successor companies until 1992. It's now an outpatient clinic belonging to BestSelf Behavioral Health.
