Summary

Description
English: Stern-wheel steamboat Occident, at Albany, Oregon, near Red Crown Mills (white building on right), and also near where a railroad bridge would be built across the Willamette River. Historian Corning, who inspected the original, stated that a uniformed band and the top hats worn by the passengers mark the image as depicting a special occasion.
Date stated to be circa 1870 in source, but cannot be earlier than 1875.
