This article came up during a backlog drive in WikiProject Military History as needing work on structure. I've edited the structure, and cleaned up some grammatical problems, expanded the lead, etc. How odd that it gets targeted for a move at the same time!  :) auntieruth (talk) 21:22, 27 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

In response to a request for updates to this page due to the June 2020 George Floyd protests, I provided information relating to the controversy including historical controversy, current calls for the removal of this statue, official response, and resulting protests. I believe that further cleaning of citations and structure may be needed as I am new to the platform and am still learning. Further, while I believe the information provided is relevant now, I believe that if the statue is moved or remains for another year, the level of detail provided may not be necessary.
