Needs Attention

Colorado route 17

Does the railroad run beside the highway the entire way? What is the highway number in New Mexico? Does the shuttle bus use this highway, or go by another route? --Una Smith (talk) 22:58, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • The automobile road from Antonito to Chama is Colorado 17 in Colorado, and New Mexico 17 in New Mexico. The shuttle bus uses this highway. The railroad closely parallels the road at the Chama end for about the first 20-25% of the trip. The eastern 75-80% of the railroad is distant from the highway. The Osier townsite, where the trains stop and people pause to eat lunch, is far from Colorado 17 and accessible only via the railroad or via National Forest Service roads. (All of this is accurate information -- I'm a Colorado guy and have ridden the train before -- but I don't have the proper Wikipedia-oriented documentation to insert it in the article.) Milepost

The milepost of Lobato seems to be inaccurate. The article says it's 399.99 but it is larger than Chama(MP 344.12) and Cresco siding(MP 335.10). Maybe it is 339.99. Official website has no information about milepost. Can anyone correct?--Tam0031 (talk) 16:33, 3 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Original Research

Specifically, the section Trip Description has no citations and could possibly be lifted from a guidebook or contain original research. One of he first guidebooks to the C&TS, Ticket To Toltec by Doris Osterwald, ISBN 978-0931788260, is not available online, to my knowledge, but would be a place to start, if you have a copy. Logo Issue

The logo for the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad "NewC&TSRRLogo.jpg" was deleted (see article history) and the new logo is a very poor replacement for it (see File:Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad.png#Licensing for the specific tags. I didn't upload either file, but I do have a copy of the old. We need an SVG. Srwalden (talk) 19:40, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
