Believe this is an incorrect change/name change with this latest edit. The Grand Prairie Armed Forces Reserve Complex is only an entity housed at Dallas Naval Air Station and Hensley Field. Around 8 years ago, AirNav indicated that the field had reopened as a private airport. As I recall it was called something like "Dallas Millennium Airport", and that "Millennium" was incorrectly spelled. Presumably the airport closed before long, and now there's no record of it on AirNav. Currently AirNav gives this location as "Redmond Taylor Army Heliport" (TX18) [1]. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 21:09, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just found a little more information: "As of 2002, although still publicly owned, the former NAS Dallas airfield was operated by a private company as 'Millennium Dallas Airport'.… At some point between 2002-03, the attempt to reuse the former NAS Dallas as a business aviation airfield ('Millenium Dallas Airport') apparently failed, as the airfield was closed once again, and depicted on the 2003 Sectional Chart as an abandoned airfield."[2]. The reason the field failed as a commercial venture was becuase the City of Dallas could not afford the environmental clean-up, and returned the field to the U.S. Government. 76.186.118.246 (talk) 06:50, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can anyone confirm through sources meeting WP:RS whether any part of this facility is still being used for the operation of aircraft? I'm wondering if it's still appropriate to describe it as an airfield. The runways have been closed for years, but I'm fairly certain that a seldom-used but technically active helipad remained (remains?) on the site. Thanks to the FAA's recent decision to make VFR sectional charts available online, I have verified that the Redmond Taylor Army Heliport is still operational—now to find some citable sources and add an actual discussion to the page. Carguychris (talk) 16:20, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
