History section
I see that it mentions the history of the city, however, when was it settled? In what year? Sullivan.t (talk) 13:28, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The 1911 Encyclopedia Britannica says it was settled in 1756. --Polaron | Talk 14:51, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Gilbert School
I edited the gilbert school section to say [citation needed] - because there is some concern over its status as a public or semi-public or "private on the books, public to people" school. Heck, I live in the town and still don't fully know. (I went to another highschool, however.) Sullivan.t (talk) 14:06, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
According to the website here,"The Gilbert School is a private secondary school that serves as the public high school for the towns of Winchester and Hartland". 99.165.198.68 (talk) 01:48, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds about right. They're an endowed academy, so it's technically a private school, but the town pays the tuition for their middle and high school students. Drjayphd (talk) 20:52, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
