All articles on active players and coaches need to be updated with stats, news, and all things important. (Note: For stats it's best to use ArenaFan.) Please help in re-assessing articles, as well as expanding them. We need to get to work on it and get as much done as possible. Current events Source(s): ArenaFan.com, ArenaFootball.com, af2.com Storm owner has heart surgery In late March, Tampa Bay Storm minority owner Peter "Woody" Kern, had surgery for an aortic aneurysm. He was listed in critical condition at Memorial Herman Heart & Vascular Institute at the Texas Medical Center in Houston. New Policy On April 5, Ed Policy stepped down as acting AFL commissioner. Policy said that the league's restructuring will require a CEO, "a job in which Policy has no interest." The Wheelers' aren't fans of HoJos. On April 13, the Quad City Steamwheelers experienced a slight problem on "Victory Monday" when the "name" had to be changed to "Moving Monday" after the Howard Johnson's the team was staying at shut down for good and forced guests to leave. No more football in L.A. On April 19, Casey Wasserman, ceased operations of the Los Angeles Avengers, saying on the teams website; "The LA Avengers has terminated its participation in the Arena Football League...." AFL returning in 2010. On April 23, the Arena Football League announced that they had finalized a new business model that will enable the league to return in time for the 2010 season. On April 22, Boise Burn Center Kyle DeVan signed a two-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts. DeVan, spent the last nine weeks of the 2008 NFL season on the New York Jets practice squad. Notable af2 transactions On March 26, K Art Carmody was assigned to the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings. On April 17, the Kentucky Horsemen suspended FB/LB Bernard Jackson. On April 21, the Tri-Cities Fever placed QB Joe Ayoob on Recallable Re-assignment. (Activated the next day.) On April 23, the Burn placed OL Kyle DeVan on the Other League Exempt. (see above) On April 24, the Fever traded QB Joe Ayoob to the Amarillo Dusters. On April 26, the Fever fired Head coach Richard Davis after an 0-5 start to the season. He was replaced by Los Angeles Avengers Heard coach Pat O'Hara on April 27. On April 28, following a 1-4 start, the Mahoning Valley Thunder fired Head coach Mike Hold, and named Defensive coordinator Brennen Booth as interim Head coach. Arena Football League Article Stats Our goal is to get the number of Stub-Class articles down to 0, in due time. The current article count is listed below, I have placed the forumla that is on the project page that is updated everytime the bot is run and it tallies up our articles and where they are and lists them as seen below, so that no one has to worry about making sure it's updated manually before the newsletter is sent out. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could help expand and/or source an article or two. Greetings Legoktm, and thank you so much for setting Legobot up to update WP:VA! I have one request, if it's possible to effect; the bot currently removes , and similar templates when updating. Is it possible to check whether an article is a former GA or FA, or has failed GAN or FAC, and add that in? If not, could the bot perhaps leave the old icons be when updating? Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am sending you this message since you are a member of the GA WikiProject. I would like to invite you to consider helping with the GA sweeps process. Sweeps helps to ensure that the oldest GAs still meet the criteria, and improve the quality of GAs overall. Unfortunately, last month only two articles were reviewed. This is definitely a low point after our peak at the beginning of the process when 163 articles were reviewed in September 2007. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. All exempt and previously reviewed articles have already been removed from the list. Instead of reviewing by topic, you can consider picking and choosing whichever articles interest you.

We are always looking for new members to assist with the remaining articles, so if you are interested or know of anybody that can assist, please visit the GA sweeps page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. If only 14 editors achieve this feat starting now, we would be done with Sweeps! Of course, having more people reviewing less articles would be better for all involved, so please consider asking others to help out. Feel free to stop by and only review a few articles, something's better than nothing! Take a look at the list, and see what articles interest you. Let's work to complete Sweeps so that efforts can be fully focused on the backlog at GAN. Hello, I was wondering if your bot would be able to assist with a task related to GA sweeps. I developed a list of the GAs (from August 27, 2007; before the start of Sweeps), and since that time, many of these GAs have been delisted, deleted/merged, or been promoted to FA. I've already removed all of the FAs, but I was wondering if the bot could locate any articles that have been delisted as GAs (B class or below)? That would help us to remove articles that don't need to be reviewed and speed up the process. If this bot can assist with this (or if you know of another) can you let me know? Today the article alerts update by ArticleAlertbot for the Films project failed, though it has updated it correctly for a long time now (and ran correctly yesterday). The banner hasn't changed location, nor has the Films project code been modified. Any ideas what happened? -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 01:41, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
