Week 1
A pair of door handles, aged green bronze picturing a lion head.


The door handles at the St. Peter's Church in Hamburg were made of bronze. The handles are the oldest work of art in Hamburg, dated to the construction of the tower in 1342. It survived among others the French occupation (1806–1814) and the Great Fire of 1842, and the bombing of Hamburg in World War II.

The Bürgermeister Weichmann (English: Mayor Weichmann) is a Hamburg Water Police boat. Herbert Weichmann (1896–1983) was first mayor of Hamburg during the 1960s.

Neue Elbbrücke.

Neue Elbbrücke is a road bridge across the Norderelbe, connecting Veddel and Rothenburgsort. Originally constructed between 1884 and 1887, the three lenticular trusses (each 102 meters long) make it one of the most peculiar of the 2,500 bridges in Hamburg.
