Some Wikipedians have formed this WikiProject to better organise information in articles related to Alternative Education, including Waldorf and Montessori methods, Homeschooling, Unschooling, Freeschooling, Democratic education, and similar educational models.

Other goals seek increased cooperation with other WMF projects to help develop and publish freely-licensed educational content for those who practice alternative education.

The scope of this project is revolved around handling all articles related to Alternative education. WP AE maintains and improves articles within the Alternative Education category structure:

• To coordinate and improve articles related to Alternative education.
• To foster collaboration between WMF editors with shared goals.
• To establish appropriate linkages with WikiProject Education.
• Get Alternative education to GA-status.
• Keep all articles assessed for importance and quality.
